Social Committee
The Social Committee is responsible for making sure the group always feels like they are in a comfortable atmosphere and can communicate openly. Like the other committees we are responsible for planning 4 events a year. These events typically involve a fun social environment for young professionals to have a good time and meet other motivated individuals.
Mission Statement
Young Professionals of Minneapolis is both a personal and professional development organization in Minneapolis and its surrounding areas that allows young business professionals a forum to develop professionally, socially, and civically.
Community Committee
The Community Committee was developed so YPM members could give back to society through a hard working team that plans 4 events a year to support local charities.

Business Committee
The business committee overall goal is to establish corporate sponsorships with current Minneapolis area businesses and recruit today’s leaders to an open forum atmosphere where they can provide helpful insight and answers to topics that pertain to professionals looking to make a foot print in today’s business world.

An eighteen year sales and management professional with expertise in revenue development, recruitment and development of talent, strategic planning, organizational leadership, structural innovation, and the creation of high performing teams.

Julie Luers of HGA Architects and Engineers -Vice President and Director of Marketing
Julie has nearly 30 years of experience in marketing professional services for architecture, engineering and construction firms. She is currently is Vice President and Director of Marketing for HGA Architects and Engineers, responsible for strategic marketing planning and brand management for the firm’s six offices located in Minneapolis and Rochester, Minnesota; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sacramento, California.

James A. Schoonover of Medtox Scientific-Vice President and CMO, Sales and Marketing
Mr. Schoonover has more than 25 years of experience in sales, public relations and sales management for a variety of service companies. Prior to joining MEDTOX Scientific, Inc., Mr. Schoonover was a Division Vice President for the medical services subsidiary of Olsten Corporation.
